The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place in Wilmington on Saturday night.
On May 6, 2023, at approximately 10:26 p.m., troopers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 4865 Governor Printz Boulevard regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. Troopers spoke with the 23-year-old cashier and learned that an unknown suspect had entered the store and told the cashier that he had a gun. The suspect threatened to shoot the cashier while pointing at him through his jacket pocket. The suspect then removed cash from the register and stole tobacco products before fleeing the scene. The cashier was not harmed, and troopers were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, approximately 5’08” to 5’09” tall, weighing approximately 150-170 pounds, wearing dark clothing. Surveillance video and images are not yet available.
The Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective R. Kirchenbauer by calling 302-365-8525.
