Milford, DE- Delaware State Police have identified the victims that died in a fatal motor vehicle collision early Thursday morning south of Milford as Blue Evans, 17, of Dover, and Jensen Reed, 17, of Camden.
On February 17, 2022, at approximately 12:39 a.m., Blue Evans was driving a 2008 Jeep Patriot northbound in the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, north of Brick Granary Road, approaching a left curve. Evans failed to negotiate the curve and entered the grass median, traveling northbound between the guardrails approaching the double-span bridge of Cedar Creek. When the Jeep struck a grass berm, it vaulted into the water between the two spans, landing on the roof with the vehicle nearly completely submerged. Once the Jeep was removed from the water with the assistance of multiple Sussex County dive teams and Coastal Towing, Evans and Reed were located deceased inside.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate this fatal collision. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Sgt. Nicholas DeMalto by calling 302-703-3269. Information may also be provided by sending a Private Facebook Message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers.
