*UPDATE* Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash- Felton

Felton, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred late Wednesday night in Felton.

On January 5, 2022, at approximately 11:12 p.m., a 2011 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on S. DuPont Hwy (US 13), in the left lane, just north of Peach Basket Rd. At the same time, a 55-year-old Harrington woman was near the center of the left lane of southbound S. DuPont Hwy, just north of Peach Basket Rd. As a result, the Nissan struck the pedestrian near the center of the left lane with its front bumper. The vehicle continued southbound a short distance and stopped in the left lane of S. DuPont Hwy, just south of Peach Basket Rd. 

The 55-year-old Harrington woman was dressed in dark clothing and was not carrying any light. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Identification is pending notification to next of kin. 

The 17-year-old driver is from Harrington, DE. She was uninjured during the collision. 

S. DuPont Hwy was closed for approximately 3 hours for the crash investigation. 

Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision.
