Milford Man Arrested for Attempted Burglary- Milford

Date Posted: Monday, November 1st, 2021

Milford, DE- Delaware State Police arrested Jonathan Bishop Richard Harvey, 18, of Milford, early Sunday morning for attempted burglary and related charges.

On October 31, 2021, at approximately 1:20 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the 7000 block of Union Church Road for reports of an individual attempting to break into a residence. The investigation determined a black male wearing UFC gloves was standing on the front porch and tried kicking in the front door. When the male was unsuccessful in gaining entry, he left the property and went to the residence next door, where he entered the back of a work van parked in the driveway. When troopers arrived, they located the individual, later identified as Jonathan Harvey, seated on the ground inside the van wearing UFC-style gloves. Harvey failed to comply with multiple commands to exit the van and resisted arrest. Once taken into custody, troopers located on Harvey a key to the victims’ shed and van. Harvey was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 5, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Attempted Burglary First Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Trespass Second Degree
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Resisting Arrest

Harvey was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
