Delaware State Police Conducting Homicide Investigation- Wilmington

Wilmington, DE- Delaware State Police are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred Saturday night in Wilmington.

On October 2, 2021, at approximately 10:09 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Governor Printz Blvd for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, troopers located a 63-year-old Wilmington man in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

The initial investigation revealed the victim parked his vehicle in the median strip of Governor Printz Blvd and entered a nearby liquor store to make a purchase. As he returned to his car and sat in the driver seat, an unknown suspect approached the vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the victim before fleeing on foot.

There is currently no suspect information available.

This case remains an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.
