Troopers Investigating Strong Arm Robbery – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a strong arm robbery that took place in the parking lot of the Bank of America on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in the parking lot of the Bank of America, located at 5215 Concord Pike, Wilmington. A 68-year-old female had just exited her vehicle and was walking across the parking lot when she was approached by a male suspect who asked if she needed help. The suspect grabbed the victim’s backpack and a brief struggle ensued. The victim was knocked to the ground at which time the suspect was able to gain possession of the backpack and fled on foot. The suspect was last seen on foot on Naamans Road in the area of the Stratford apartment complex. The victim sustained minor injuries from the fall but refused medical treatment.

The suspect was described as a thin white male, approximately 5’10” tall with a beard.
