Delware State Police Investigating Shooting Incident – New Castle

New Castle- Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday afternoon that left two men wounded.

The incident occurred on December 21, 2020, at approximately 1:16 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 3000 block of New Castle Ave (Route 9), New Castle, in reference to a shooting. Investigation has determined a 30-year-old male and a 58-year-old male were sitting inside of their vehicle in the parking lot of the New Castle Market. At this time a vehicle traveling northbound New Castle Ave stopped on the shoulder of the roadway in front of the parking lot, and unknown suspects began firing gunshots at the victims. The two male victims were each shot once in their lower extremities. The victims were transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time and no other reported injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored sedan.
