Millsboro- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at approximately 1:54 p.m. on John J. Williams Highway and Layton Davis Road.
A 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck operated by a 57-year-old male of Millsboro was exiting the parking lot of WMF Watercraft & Marine located at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Layton Davis Road. A 2013 Buick Verano operated by a 64-year-old male of Millsboro was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway approaching the intersection. The Ford pulled out from the parking lot, intending to travel west on John J. Williams Highway, directly into the path of the Buick, resulting in the left front of the Ford striking the right front of the Buick.
A 67-year-old female of Millsboro was seated in the Buick’s front passenger seat was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. On October 29, 2020, she succumbed to her injuries. Identification is pending notification to next to kin.
This crash remains under investigation by Delaware State Police Troop 7 Crash Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information regarding the collision should contact Detective K.
