Delaware State Police Arrested Millsboro Woman on Burglary Charges- Harrington

Harrington- Delaware State Police arrested 32-year-old Ashley L. Smith of Millsboro on burglary and related charges.

On October 29, 2020, at approximately 3:08 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to a residence on Whiteleysburg Road for a reported burglary. The investigation determined Ashley L. Smith responded to the residence to confront an acquaintance. When she arrived at the home, Smith observed the acquaintance vehicle parked in the driveway. Smith exited her car and kicked in the door to the residence, attempting to locate the acquaintance. When she could not find anyone inside the home, she fled the scene. Troopers contacted Smith by telephone, and she turned herself into Delaware State Police Troop 4.

Smith was charged with the following crimes: 

  • Burglary 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 Damage

She was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on her Own Recognizance.
