State Police Investigating Serious Industrial Accident- Lewes

Lewes- The Delaware State Police are investigating a serious industrial accident that occurred yesterday.

The incident occurred on August 24, 2020, at approximately 4:03 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 31000 block of Temple Road, The Governors, Lewes, in reference to an industrial accident.  Prior to police arrival, the 22-year-old male victim had been airlifted to the Christiana Hospital  by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was a contractor working on a residence under construction.  The victim was on the second story of the residence standing on a 2×4 while installing floor joists in place.  The victim lost his footing and fell approximately 14 feet onto a concrete slab below.

The 22-year-old victim from Philadelphia, PA was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.  His name is being withheld at this time.

The case continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit.
