Troopers Attempting to Identify Robbery Suspect- Lewes

Lewes- The Delaware State Police are investigating a strong-armed robbery that occurred Saturday, June 13, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m. at Weis grocery store located at 17232 North Village Main Blvd., Lewes.

During the incident, the female suspect followed the 65-year-old male victim from Lewes, DE, out of the grocery store to his vehicle. Once there, the suspect and victim had a brief struggle as the suspect stole the wallet out of the victim’s hands. The suspect then fled on foot, possibly to a nearby parking lot. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident but was not transported to the hospital for treatment. No weapon was displayed or implied.

The suspect is a white or Hispanic female, approximately 20 years old, 5’00”- 5’5″, black hair, wearing a white t-shirt, dark-colored shorts, tall black socks, brown shoes, and carrying a black Nike drawstring backpack with white lettering. The suspect possibly fled the scene in a red-colored sedan with unknown registration.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Trooper A. Stimac at Troop 7 by calling 302-644-5020.
