Wilmington– The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to located 51-year-old Carl L. Simpson Jr., of Bear, DE (no photo available) after a traffic stop led to him disregarding a police officer’s signal.
The incident occurred on May 17, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m., when a Trooper observed a tan Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on Greenhill Ave., and failed to utilize it’s turn signal while switching lanes. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Carl Simpson. The Trooper observed a syringe cap containing a white powdery substance on Simpson’s lap. The Trooper ordered Simpson to exit the vehicle, when Simpson proceeded to take off, while spinning his tires and headed eastbound on Lancaster Ave. The Trooper lost sight of the vehicle upon entering the City limits of Wilmington.
Troopers have been unable to locate Simpson who has an active warrant out of Troop 1 for the following:
