Blades – The Delaware State Police have arrested 39 year old, Quanteve L. Hanzer of Blades on May 14, 2020 for a Felony DUI offense and domestic related charges.

At approximately 1:07 a.m. Troopers were dispatched to a residence on E. Second St. Blades for a domestic disturbance. Prior to arrival, Troopers learned Hanzer was involved in a verbal dispute which escalated to a physical altercation with family members. Prior to Troopers arriving on scene Hanzer fled the residence in a vehicle heading in the direction of East High Street. Troopers responding to the scene observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Troopers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop by activating there vehicle emergency equipment, to which, Hanzer failed to stop. He continued back to his residence, at which time Troopers made contact with him. Once back at the residence Hanzer exited his vehicle and failed to comply with Troopers commands. Additional officers arrived on scene with Hanzer being taken into custody without further incident.

While contacting Hanzer regarding this incident, Troopers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Hanzer’s breath as he spoke. Through additional investigation, Troopers determined Hanzer was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Through a computer check it was determined that Hanzer violated a court order involving a prior DUI arrest.

Investigation revealed there was a juvenile within the residence during the incident. The victims involved in this incident did not require medical attention.

Hanzer was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:
