Troopers Arrest Seaford Man Following Shooting Incident-Millsboro

Millsboro – Troopers have arrested Robert S. Hill, 32, of Seaford, for a shooting incident which occurred around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday March 25, 2020 in the 28000 block of Delaware Avenue in Millsboro.

Troopers were dispatched to the Beebe Medical Center after being notified by medical staff that a 41 year old victim arrived at the hospital for medical treatment due to a gunshot wound. Through the investigation, it was discovered the victim and Hill are roommates. They became involved in a verbal dispute as the victim tried to break up a domestic dispute between Hill and his girlfriend inside the residence. The victim returned to his bedroom and Hill followed where the verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, Hill exited the victims’ bedroom and retrieved a handgun from his bedroom. When he returned the physical altercation continued and the victim was shot in his upper body. The victim was privately transported to the hospital with non-life threatening.

Hill was taken into custody at his residence without incident and transported to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Assault First Degree (felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (felony)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Offensive Touching

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #3 and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $36,000 secure bond.
