Superintendent Colonel William Crotty
Georgetown- The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Administration, led by Captain William Crotty, hosted its 2019 annual year in review on March 11, 2020 at the Millville Town Hall, located at 36404 Club House Road, Millville.
Troopers were privileged to have hosted a meeting where the public was provided with an overview of the great work done by the men and women of DSP Troop 4 in 2019. Achieving a 49.7% reduction in robberies, a 8.5% reduction in burglaries, and a 13.8% reduction in pedestrian related crashes simply exemplifies the exceptional work the Troopers are doing. Moreover, the dedication of the Troopers at Troop 4 is clearly shown by their 14.6% increase in proactive drug arrests and a 34% increase in proactive DUI arrests, making these both the highest on record for Troop 4 Patrol.
Those in attendance also had the opportunity to learn about the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the duties and responsibilities of those Troopers assigned to that unit.
Equally important to our crime fighting and traffic enforcement measures is our commitment to suppress and prevent crime through our community outreach and engagement efforts. In 2019, Troop 4 embarked on several community based programs to build trust, open lines of communication, foster positive and open relationships between the citizens and police, all aimed at crime reduction and making our communities as safe as possible.
Some of the most memorable Community Outreach events in 2019 included:
These pro-active efforts not only provide the community with a better understanding of the Delaware State Police, it also enhances Troopers awareness of the various cultures that exist within the communities we so proudly serve.
We truly appreciate and thank all those in attendance including; Mayor Steve Maneri, Deputy Mayor Ronald Belinko, Representative Ron Gray, Representative Ricahrd Collins, and Troop 4’s Honorary Commander Bishop Roland Mifflin for joining us to learn more about DSP T4.
A special thank you to Mayor Maneri for allowing us to host this event at the Millville Town Hall!
