Bridgeville- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on February 3, 2020 at approximately 7:40 p.m., when a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado, pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Seashore Highway (SR 404) just west of Polk Road. For unknown reasons, the operator  exited the south edge of the roadway and struck a mailbox. After impact, the truck continued to travel along a ditch bank where it struck a culvert pipe causing the truck to overturn.

The operator of the truck, a 34-year-old male from Greenwood, DE was not properly restrained and pronounced deceased at the scene.  The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Seashore Highway in the area of Polk Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
