Update *TRAFFIC ADVISORY* Troopers Investigating Crash Involving a Pedestrian – Kirkwood Highway

Wilmington, Delaware – The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 4:19 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020, on Kirkwood Highway eastbound east of Saint James Church Road.

The preliminary investigation has determined a 2000 Toyota Camry operated by an 83-year-old female traveling eastbound on Kirkwood Highway in the left lane. At the same time a pedestrian, an 11-year-old female, was crossing the eastbound lanes of Kirkwood Highway in a southbound direction in the area of Saint James Church Road into the direct path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck.

The driver was not injured in the collision and the pedestrian was transported to the Christiana Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
