Harrington– The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on December 11, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the unit block of Diamond Court, Harrington, to assist the Harrington Police Department for a report of shooting.  Further investigation revealed that a 37-year-old male victim had just left his residence on foot when he was shot by an unknown subject within close proximity to his residence.

The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  His name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

At the request of the Harrington Police Department, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

There is no suspect information at this time.
