Troopers Investigating Attempted Armed Robbery of Liquor Store-Frederica

Frederica–  The Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Liquor Store and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the pictured suspect.

The incident occurred on December 5, 2019 at approximately 7:29 p.m., when Troopers responded to the JC Liquor Mart, located at 7615 Old Beach Road Frederica, for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 71-year-old male employee who advised that the suspect entered the store wearing a ski mask.  The employee immediately confronted the suspect when the suspect displayed what appeared to be a handgun.  The suspect then proceeded to strike the victim with the handgun.  The suspect and victim engaged in a tussle.  The suspect subsequently fled the area on foot without obtaining any money or merchandise.  The victim sustained minor injury and declined medical treatment.

The suspect was described as black male, approximately 6’02’’ tall and at least 200 lbs.  He was wearing a ski mask, gloves, a dark green puffy winter jacket with fur lining on the hood and jean pants.
