*UPDATE-Surveillance Images Released* Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – Claymont

Claymont – The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate the armed robbery of a Claymont area check cashing business that occurred in late October and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

The original incident occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the United Check Cashing, located at 333 Naaman’s Rd., Claymont. The pictured suspect, who was in possession of a handgun, confronted an employee and demanded access behind the sales counter. The employee complied with the demand and once behind the counter the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. After obtaining the money the suspect fled in a dark colored, sport utility vehicle. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

At the time of the incident the suspect was described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 5’11” tall and weighing 200 lbs. He had his face covered with a dark fabric cloth and was in possession of a black handgun.
