Troopers Investigating Shooting Incident – Dover

Dover, DelawareThe Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday morning.

The preliminary investigation has determined that on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a call was made to 9-1-1 by a local area hospital reporting a shooting incident. Troopers responded to the hospital and contacted a 38-year-old male victim of Dover who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. It was learned the victim was transported to the hospital by a privately owned vehicle. It was also reported to have occurred in the area of South State Street near Lakeland Avenue, Dover.

Further investigation into this incident revealed that the victim was walking northbound on South State Street and was approached by black males walking southbound on South State Street. As they walked past the victim, words were exchanged and the victim heard one gunshot which struck him.

The suspects were described as black males.

This investigation is active and ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Troop 3, Camden at (302) 697-4454 or Detective J.
