New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that took place inside a New Castle area Walgreens on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2019, inside the Walgreens, located at 287 Christiana Rd., New Castle. A female suspect approached the employee at the pharmacy counter and requested assistance in locating merchandise in the store. Once the employee exited from the pharmacy area, the suspect came from behind and put a knife to the employees back demanding an undisclosed type of pharmaceuticals. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of pharmaceuticals before fleeing the business in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect was described as a black female, approximately 50 years of age, wearing dark-colored clothing.
