Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating a pair of carjackings that occurred within a one hour time period early Monday evening.

The first incident occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at the rear of the Papa John’s Pizza, located at 480 Peoples Plaza. A 20 year old male was about to enter his vehicle which was parked behind the Papa Johns, when he was approached by two male suspects, one of which was brandishing a handgun. The suspects demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle however he refused to comply and a struggle ensued. The victim was able to retain possession of his keys and after a brief struggle the suspects fled on foot towards Glasgow Avenue. The victim refused medical treatment for minor injuries sustained during the incident.

A handgun was again displayed and the suspects demanded the victim’s keys and vehicle. The victim in this incident complied with the demand and turned over his keys to the suspects who then fled onto Pulaski Hwy., in the Honda. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
