Middletown – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at a residence located in the 1800 block of Choptank Rd., Middletown.

Troopers arrived on scene to find an adult male subject who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was treated on scene by EMS and then transported to the Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Troopers were able to determine that the incident was isolated to the residence and that there was no threat to public safety.

The investigation is in the very early stages with further details being released as they become available.
