Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash-Millsboro

Date Posted: Friday, October 11th, 2019

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred on October 10, 2019 at approximately 3:56 p.m., when a 2008 Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on Daisey Road approaching a moderate right curve. For unknown reasons, the operator of the F150 failed to negotiate the curve, causing the vehicle to cross over the centerline into the opposing travel lane and off the edge of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the F150 continued traveling in an easterly direction where its left front struck a standing tree.

The operator, a 61-year-old female from Frankford, DE was transported to the Penninsula Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.  Her name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Daisey Road in the area of Sand Hill Lane was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
