Bear – The Delaware State Police are conducting a death investigation after human remains were discovered along the C&D Canal banks Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:01 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 human remains were discovered by passersby, in the area of the north banks of the C&D Canal, just west of the St. Georges Bridge. The remains were turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause and manner of death.

The initial investigation has determined that the the remains are those of black male. The age of the victim is undetermined at this time.
