Troopers Investigating Bus Stop Robbery – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that took place at a bus stop on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, Monday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2019 at a bus stop located in the area of 1905 Maryland Avenue. Two females, 50 and 82 years of age respectively, were seated at the bus stop when they were approached a male suspect. The suspect first approached the 50 year old, displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim then became engaged in a brief struggle with the suspect who knocked her to the ground. The suspect then approached the 82 year old victim, still with the knife displayed and snatched her purse. The suspect then fled on foot towards Alban Dr.

The 50 year old victim who sustained a minor injury due to falling to the ground was able to retain her property. The 82 year old victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect could only be described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 6’00”-6’5″ tall.
