Troopers Attempting to Identify Subject who Fled from Traffic Stop – New Castle

Date Posted: Saturday, September 7th, 2019

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are attempting to identify the pictured subject who fled from a traffic stop, endangering multiple young children who were passengers in his vehicle.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2019, on Moores Lane in the area of Midfield Rd. when Troopers stopped a Ford Explorer for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle (pictured), the Troopers observed 2 children in the back seat, who were properly restrained. However seated in the front seat was an approximately 3 year old child who was not restrained in any way. As the Troopers were speaking with the driver in regards to the violation he suddenly accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed. Due to the children being in the vehicle the Troopers did not pursue. The vehicle was unable to be located during a search of the area.

The vehicle was described as a tan or gold older model Ford Explorer, with a roof rack, tinted windows and bearing an unknown temporary PA tag.

Once identified the subject will face the following charges:

  • Disregard a Police Officers Signal
  • Reckless Endangering
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3 counts)

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the pictured subject or vehicle are asked to contact Sgt. E. Larney by calling 302-505-2773.
