Troopers Investigating Attempted Robbery of 7-11 – Wilmington

Wilmington, Delaware (19809)- Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a Wilmington area 7-11 store that occurred late Wednesday night.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at approximately 11:41 p.m., as a male suspect entered the 7-11 located at 4865 Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington. The suspect approached the sales counter where he confronted a male clerk and demanded cigarettes. He then displayed an unknown make and model gun and again demanded a carton of cigarettes and the victim again refused to give the cigarettes. After a short time, the suspect left the store. No merchandise was taken from the store.  The suspect fled northbound through the parking lot towards Edgemoor Gardens, out of sight. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years old, 150-160 lbs, between 5’05”-5’10” with a thin build. Last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark shorts and dark colored sneakers.

No surveillance photos are available at this time.
