Newark – The Delaware State Police held a ceremony on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Troop 2, where they recognized the graduates of the Spring 2019 New Castle County Citizen’s Police Academy.

Superintendent of the Delaware State Police, Colonel Nathaniel McQueen Jr., who was accompanied by members of his Executive Staff; Major Melissa Zebley and Major Daniel Meadows, presented certificates to the 17 academy graduates. Colonel McQueen thanked them for their commitment to helping build stronger ties between law enforcement and the community and encouraged them to go back to their respective communities as ambassadors for the Delaware State Police.

The eight week academy afforded these community members the opportunity to get a better understanding of the day to day operations of the Delaware State Police. The academy consisted of presentations by the Delaware State Police Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums, the Delaware Information Analysis Center (DIAC), Collision Reconstruction Unit, Financial Crimes Unit and Division of Gaming Enforcement.
