New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Beaverbrook Dollar Tree, late Thursday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Dollar Tree located at 1230 Beaverbrook Plaza, New Castle. An unknown suspect entered the business just after closing and confronted an employee in the office. The suspect who was brandishing a handgun, held the employee at gunpoint while demanding money. The victim complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot towards the rear of the business.
The suspect was described as black male wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
