Troopers Investigating Serious Single Vehicle Crash – Laurel

Laurel – The Delaware State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred late Saturday night that has left a Millsboro woman hospitalized in serious condition.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:27 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 on Gordy Rd. in the area of Whitesville Rd. A 2007 Nissan Sentra, operated by a 38 year old Millsboro woman was travelling southbound on Gordy Rd. at an apparent high rate of speed when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Whitesville Rd. After proceeding through the intersection the Nissan travelled off the south side of Whitesville Rd. into a grassy area where it came to a stop after impacting the embankment of a ditch.

The driver who was not seat belted, was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
