Troopers Investigating Robbery of Video Game Store – Newark

Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area video game store that took place Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:16 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Game Stop, located at 870 Peoples Plaza, Newark. A male suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and produced a note announcing a robbery. The suspect then threatened to shoot the employee if they didn’t open the register. The employee complied with the demand and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black male, 25-32 years of age, 5’8” tall, 200 lbs., wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood drawn tight around his head and dark pants.

No surveillance images are available at this time.
