Frederica- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Valero gas station that occurred last evening.
The incident occurred on April 13, 2019 at approximately 10:30 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a hold up alarm at the Valero gas station located at 7865 Bay Road, Frederica. Upon arrival, Troopers met with the store clerk who advised that while he was locking the door to prepare to leave, three masked males armed with handguns approached him and forced their way inside. Once inside, the suspects demanded the employee to open the safe. The employee was unable to open the safe when a struggle ensued and the employee was struck with the handle of a gun.
The employee was able to activate the alarm. The suspects obtained several tobacco products prior to fleeing the area on foot.
The victim sustained a minor injury and was treated on scene by Emergency Medical Services.
The suspects were described as two black males and one white male.
