Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash-Seaford

Seaford- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a crash that has turned fatal.

The incident occurred on March 6th, 2019 at approximately 9:47 a.m., when a 2004 Dodge Neon was traveling northbound on King Road just south of Dove Road. A 2005 Pontiac Vibe had just pulled from a private driveway on King Road and was slowly accelerating in a northerly direction. The operator of the Dodge, upon observing the Pontiac pull from the driveway activated their brakes, however was unable to avoid striking the rear of the Pontiac.

The operator of the Dodge, a 34-year-old male from Bridgeville was properly restrained and not injured.

The 0perator of the Pontiac, 79-year-old Sandra E. Johnson of Seaford, was properly restrained and transported by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to the Christiana Hospital in critical condition.  She succumbed to her injuries on Monday, March 11th, 2019.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Unit and no charges have been filed at this time.
