Troopers Investigating Knifepoint Robbery – New Castle

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the knife-point robbery of a New Castle area discount variety store that took place this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Dollar Tree store located at 2201 Hessler Boulevard, New Castle. A male suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and brandished a knife. The suspect grabbed the money from the register and struck the employee in the chest area with the knife. The suspect then fled from the business on foot eastbound in the direction of North DuPont Highway. The victim reported minor abrasions and refused treatment.

The suspect is described as a white or hispanic male, 5’07”-5’08’ tall, 170-180 lbs, unshaven, medium build, wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, dark colored pants and dark colored winter style hat armed with what appears to be a knife.
