Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Tuesday evening, in which the victim was assaulted and robbed by multiple suspects.

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at approximately 7:21 p.m., a 31 year old male subject was in the parking lot of the Canby Park Shopping Center, located at 1900 Maryland Ave., when he was offered a ride. The victim entered a gray Nissan Altima, which was occupied by four other subjects, and then driven to Saint Patrick’s Cemetery which is located in the 1500 block of Ashland Clinton School Rd., in Hockessin. Once at the cemetery two male suspects, one armed with a handgun and the other with a knife, forced the victim out of the vehicle. Once outside the vehicle the victim complied with the suspect’s orders to remove his jacket, sweatshirt and shoes. The suspects then proceeded to go through the victims pockets and removed his wallet and cell phone. After obtaining the property, the suspects proceeded to physically assault the victim. After the suspects fled the area the victim ran to a nearby residence where he was able to call 911. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were described as follows:

  • Suspect #1: Black male, 20-22 years of age, 5’8’-6’00”, 160-180 lbs., wearing all dark clothing and in possession of a black handgun.
  • Suspect #2: White male, 20-22 years of age, 5’5”-5’8”, 150-160 lbs., wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and in possession of a knife.
  • Suspect#3: White female, 20-22 years of age, short, heavy set, wearing all gray clothing.
  • Suspect #4: White female, 20-22 years of age, tall and thin, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
