*UPDATE* Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Incident at A.I. DuPont H.S. – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are providing additional information as part of there investigation in to a shots fired incident that occurred at approximately 7:44 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 on the property of A.I. DuPont H.S., located at 50 Hillside Rd., Wilmington.

Once ensuring the campus and surrounding area were secure, and as part of the immediate, initial investigation, Troopers conducted a search of the area for evidence and other investigative leads. This search resulted in the recovery of a loaded .22 caliber handgun as well as multiple 9 mm shell casings in the area where witnesses first reported hearing the gunfire. Troopers also discovered that two unoccupied vehicles which were parked in the area had been struck by rounds. These vehicles were confirmed to belong to subjects who were attending an event at the school and are not associated with anyone involved in the shooting.

At this time there are still no suspects or victims associated with the incident. The investigation is active and ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. M. Cassel at 302-365-8551.
