Troopers Investigating Theft of Multiple Vehicles – New Castle

Date Posted: Monday, December 3rd, 2018

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating a break-in at a New Castle area cargo business that resulted in multiple vehicles being stolen.

On Sunday, December 2, 2018 at approximately 3:39 p.m., Troopers responded to Trans Cargo, located at 107 Pigeon Point Rd., New Castle, in reference to a vehicle theft. The investigation determined that unknown suspects gained entry in to the secured lot, where they were able to make access to seven vehicles. Once accessing the vehicles the suspects used one of them to drive through the perimeter fence, creating an opening which allowed the other six vehicles to exit.

The vehicle used to breach the fence became disabled and was recovered unoccupied at the scene. Two of the other vehicles were recovered nearby and three of the stolen vehicles were recovered in Philadelphia, all unoccupied. Currently one vehicle is still unaccounted for.

All the vehicles are new and were being stored at the business prior to distribution.

There are no suspect descriptions or surveillance video available at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective B. Timmons at Troop 2 by calling 302-365-8434.
