Norman KACEWICH

New Castle – The Delaware State Police have arrested Norman Kacewich, 30, formerly of Fairfield Township, New Jersey on an out of state fugitive warrant, in reference to a 2013 New Jersey State Police murder investigation.

On Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at approximately 9:26 p.m., Troopers responded to the Delaware Auto Court, located at 235 S. DuPont Hwy., after receiving information that a subject wanted in connection with a New Jersey murder investigation was staying at the motel. Troopers were able to secure the perimeter of the property while attempting to determine the validity of the information as well as identifying the specific location of the suspect. Through a variety of investigative measures a male subject, who would later be positively identified as Kacewich, was located in one of the rooms and taken in to custody without incident. . Kacewich initially provided a false name however during the course of a subsequent interview he admitted to being the wanted subject.

After confirming Kacewich’ s identity Troopers were able to confirm that he was wanted out of the Cumberland County (N.J.) Prosecutor’s Office for one count each of Desecration of Human Remains and Hindering Prosecution. The charges stem from Kacewich’s role in helping to bury the body of a murder victim.

Kacewich was arraigned on an Out of State Fugitive warrant and then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, pending extradition back to New Jersey.
