Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Wanted Suspect

Delmar- The Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with burglary and theft of motor vehicle charges.

The incidents occurred on November 21, 2018 when Troopers responded to the 8300 block of  Woodland Ferry Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle complaint.  It was discovered that a subject had entered on the property and removed a disabled van by towing it with their vehicle.  A similar incident was also reported on the same date at a residence in the 36000 block of Susan Beach Road.  The suspect entered on the property and removed a disabled vehicle.  It was discovered that the suspect claimed to be the owner of the vehicles and sold them to scrap yards.

Through investigative measures, the suspect was identified as 43-year-old, Ronald T. Hastings of Laurel.

Hastings currently has active warrants out of Troop 5 for Burglary (2 counts), Theft of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts), and multiple related charges.  Troopers have been unable to locate him and he may be operating a 1999 Red Ford F150, DE registration C66841.
