Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Wanted Suspect- Middletown

WANTED Johan Rodriguez, 34 of Dover

Middletown, – The Delaware State Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating: Johan Rodriguez, 34 of Dover. He is wanted for fleeing from police, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation as well as numerous traffic charges. Rodriguez is also wanted for several capiases from family court as well as violation of probation. He is known to drive a blue Buick LaCrosse, Delaware registration 958589 and travel from Dover to Middletown.

The incident occurred on September 26, 2018 at approximately 3:39 p.m. when a traffic stop was initiated on a Buick LaCrosse (DE#958589) for speeding northbound on U.S. 13 in the area of Shannon Cove Boulevard east of Middletown. During the traffic stop it was learned the driver did not possess a driver’s license and gave a false name. The driver drove off and fled at a high rate of speed squealing his tires and crossing two lanes of northbound traffic in a reckless manner. The driver then drove across the grassy median and into the southbound lanes of U.S. 13. Troopers activated emergency equipment and pursued the driver until the pursuit was called off for safety. Through investigative measures the driver was positively identified as Johan Rodriguez, 34 of Dover, Delaware. He is described as 5’05” tall approximately 150 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.

Troopers have been unable to locate Johan Rodriguez, who currently has active warrants out of Troop 9, Odessa for the following:
  • Disregarding a Police Officer Signal
  • Criminal Impersonation Impersonates Another to Obtain Benefit or Defraud
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Driving While Suspended or Revoked
  • Reckless Driving
  • Accelerate or Try to Accelerate to Cause Wheels to Spin or Slip on Road
  • Speeding in Excess of Posted Limits
  • Improper Lane Change
  • Driving Vehicle at Unreasonable or Imprudent Speed
  • Failure when Moving Right, Left or Turning to Signal Continuously
  • Driving Across a Median

Prior to this incident, Johan Rodriguez was issued several active capiases from the New Castle County Superior Court, New Castle County Family Court and New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Kent County Superior Court, Kent County Court of Common Pleas, and Kent County Family Court as well as a warrant from the Dover Police Department for Criminal Impersonation.
