Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash – Millsboro

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred earlier this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:35 a.m., on Saturday, November 3, 2018 as a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling northbound on Mount Joy Road (CR297) just north of Cordrey Road (CR 308) attempting to negotiate a moderate right curve. Do to unsafe speed, the operator failed to negotiate the curve causing the Trail Blazer to exit the roadway and strike a utility pole.

The operator, a 32-year-old female from Millsboro was not properly restrained and was transported to the Beebe Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.   Impairment on her behalf is undetermined at this time.  Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.

Mount Joy Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
