New Castle – A multi-agency operation conducted on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at targeted locations in the greater New Castle area has resulted in the arrest of 42 individuals on criminal charges.

This crime blitz focused on the Route 13/40 corridor as well as Rt. 9 (New Castle Avenue). The operation was conducted in these areas to target criminal activity and to address ongoing quality of life issues.

During the eight hour enforcement blitz, police arrested 44 individuals for either a criminal charge or outstanding capias, resulting in the clearance of  78 active warrants. Seized during the operation was a .45 Caliber handgun, 85.5 grams of Marijuana, 3.064 grams of Heroin, 17 grams of crack cocaine, $720.00 in suspected drug proceeds, 8 prescription pills, and an assortment of drug paraphernalia. In total 57 traffic arrests, 41 criminal arrests, 11 prostitution arrests and 1 DUI arrest occurred during the crime initiative.

Two significant felonious arrests made during the operation were of Percy A. Skinner, 32,  and Paul R. Anderson, 42, both of Wilmington.

Skinner was found to be in possession of 2 grams of raw heroin, 61 bags of heroin, 17 grams of crack cocaine and $466 in suspected drug proceeds. He was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Anderson was found to be in possession of a Springfield Armory .45 ACP and 13 rounds of ammunition, 4.1 grams of Marijuana and related paraphernalia. He was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm while Possessing Drugs and Possession of Marijuana

This initiative was a collaborative effort between the Delaware State Police, Governors Task Force, Probation and Parole, New Castle County Police Department, Department of Corrections and Justice of the Peace Courts.

This combined effort highlights how the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies can effectively combat crime which in turn increases the quality of life for the communities we serve.
