Troopers Investigating Shoplifting Turned Robbery – North Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a shoplifting that turned into a robbery after a store employee was pepper sprayed by the suspects..

The incident occurred at approximately 7:43 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Target department store, located at 1050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington. Two female suspects loaded a shopping cart with merchandise and then proceeded to exit the store without rendering payment. When a store employee confronted them at the exit doors they pepper sprayed him and then fled into the parking lot. Due to the effects of the pepper spray the employee was unable to provide a mode or direction of travel. The employee was treated at an area hospital as a result of the incident. All merchandise was recovered.

The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect 1: Black female, 16-25 years of age, 5’2”, small build, wearing a denim jacket.

Suspect #2: Black female, 16-25 years of age, 5’6”, averaged build, wearing a black jacket.
