Lincoln – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that took place late Saturday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:23 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, on Cedar Creek Rd., in the area of Heritage Rd., Lincoln. A 2017 Kawasaki 1000cc motorcycle, operated by a 28 year old Millsboro man, was traveling southbound on Cedar Creek Rd, just south of Heritage Rd., when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. As a result the Kawasaki traveled off the west edge of the road, with its left side striking a mailbox, causing it to overturn on to its left side. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle, coming to rest in a grassy area off the west side of the road.
The operator was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Speed is being considered as a contributing factor in the crash, impairment is undetermined at this time. Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
