Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Canby Park area business that occurred Thursday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:49 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Family Dollar store, located at 1914 Maryland Avenue, Wilmington. Three suspects with concealed faces, one of which was brandishing a handgun, entered the business and confronted two employees and one customer at the sales counter. The three victims were ordered to the floor at which time the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and safe, along with multiple packs of cigarettes from the display. As this was occurring another customer entered the business who was also ordered to the ground at gunpoint. After exiting the business all three suspects were last seen fleeing on foot towards Maryland Avenue. None of the four victims were injured as a result of the incident.

The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect #1: black female wearing all black clothing to include a face covering and armed with a handgun

Suspect #2: Hispanic male, heavy set, wearing all black clothing, to include a face covering

Suspect #3: Black male, wearing all black clothing to include a face covering

No surveillance images are available at this time.
