Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Complaint- Hartly

Hartly- The Delaware State Police are investigating an incident in which several shots were fired at a residence.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 3, 2018 just after midnight when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 2000 block of Slaughter Station Road for a report of shots being fired.  Upon arrival, contact was made with a 54-year-old male from Felton who was in his vehicle in the driveway of the residence on Slaughter Station Road when he was approached by two male subjects.  The 54-year old male was maced by one of the suspects, while the other suspect began shooting towards the residence.

Further investigation revealed that several shots were fired towards the residence, striking the exterior siding.

During this incident, there were 10 people inside the residence ranging from ages 2 months old to 67 years old.  Two of the individuals were not permanent residents at the house.  No one was injured as a result of this incident.

The suspects could only be described as two black males who fled the scene on foot.

This case remains under investigation and the Delaware State Police is requesting anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Troop 3, Criminal Investigation Unit at 302-697-4454.
