Wilmington (19808) – The Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Shell gas station, that took place early Friday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:35 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Shell gas station, located at 4598 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington. Two suspects, one of which was armed with a rifle, approached the clerk at the sales counter and demanded money. A brief struggle ensued between the clerk and the armed suspect, after which both suspects fled the business without obtaining any money or property. As a result of the struggle the clerk was knocked to the ground and also sustained a minor laceration to his hand.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1: White male, 5’8”-5’9”, average build, wearing all dark clothing, with a dark fabric covering his face.
Suspect #2: Unknown male, wearing all dark clothing, a dark fabric covering his face and in possession of a dark colored rifle.
No surveillance images are available at this time.
