Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – New Castle

New Castle (19720) – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a New Castle area 7-11 store, that took place early Friday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at the 7-11 convenience store, located at 284 Christiana Rd., New Castle, when a suspect armed with a handgun confronted an employee at the sales counter and demanded cigarettes and money. The employee complied with the demand by turning over multiple packs of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then exited the store and was last seen fleeing on foot westbound towards Airport Rd. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, 19-24 years of age, 6’0”-6’1”, 150-170 lbs., wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black cloth covering the lower portion of his face and in possession of a black, unknown make and model handgun.

No surveillance images are available at this time.
